Privacy Policy

Sahakosh is a multi-tenant digital cooperative operating system for cooperatives in Nepal. Each cooperative operates as a separate tenant. Platform administrators operate Sahakosh; cooperative staff and members use the Services under their cooperative.

Account and profile data: name, email, phone, passwords (stored hashed), roles, and cooperative membership identifiers.

Cooperative and KYC data: member identity documents and verification status submitted through the platform for cooperative compliance processes.

Financial and operational data: savings, loans, marketplace activity, events, attendance, communications, donations, and related transaction records entered by your cooperative.

Location and maps: province, district, municipality, address, and optional map coordinates when cooperatives set locations (including via Google Maps where configured).

Technical data: IP address (may be hashed for abuse prevention), device/browser information, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the Services.

Support and requests: messages you send via demo applications, account deletion requests, or email to contact@sahakosh.com.

To provide, operate, and improve the Services for cooperatives, staff, and members.

To authenticate users, enforce permissions, and maintain audit trails.

To process cooperative workflows (KYC, finance, marketplace, events, communications).

To send transactional email when mail is configured (for example welcome or account notices).

To respond to privacy and account deletion requests and to comply with applicable law.

Within a cooperative: authorized staff of that cooperative can access member and operational data according to their roles.

Service providers: hosting, database, email, and maps providers that process data on our instructions.

We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the Services.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services and meet cooperative, financial, and legal record-keeping obligations.

Account deletion requests are reviewed manually. Some financial or KYC records may be retained where retention is required by law or cooperative policy even after an account is closed.

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport, hashed passwords, role-based access, and audit logging. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting contact@sahakosh.com or using our Account Deletion request form.

Members and staff should also contact their cooperative administrator for cooperative-held records.

The Services are intended for cooperative operations and adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change when we do.
